YOUTH CENTRE
Stay forever young
The Priyadarshini Park and Sports Complex is designed to give the youth of Mumbai space to stretch, grow, socialise and run free. At a time when space comes at a premium, the park provides welcome respite. Besides, with the open sea views attached, this becomes a place full of fond memories.
PUBLIC VIEWING GALLERY
Watch the game, see the sea
Going for a walk is a simple ritual that many Mumbaikars enjoy at PDP’s Sea Walk. There are few better places in the city that offer such panoramic views, open space and fresh breeze. With a game one one side and the sea on the other, it’s hard for our patrons to not show up every morning.
WALKING TRACK
Where walking is a way of life
Thousands of people use the PDP walking track daily, right from morning 5:00 am to evening 9:00 pm. Entry to the park is totally free unlike many other parks. So, from ministers to common folk, people from all walks of life, visit the park every day.
Walk uninterrupted with no hoardings, traffic or noise. Take in the sight of a track lined with over 300 coconut trees on the coastline, as well as inside the park. It suddenly starts to feel a lot like Goa, actually. And it’s all yours, so, walk without worry and without hurry.
The Walking Track is the pride of PDP as many groups of walkers come here ritually to get their daily dose of fresh air and open sea. It’s a way of life, really.
LAUGHTER CLUB
Laugh it off
The Laughter Club at Priyadarshani Park and Sports Complex was formed on 12th November, 1995 by Shri Kishore H Kuvavala. The Priyadarshani Laughter Club International was formed on 26th June, 1996.
At PDP we have held many laughter competitions over the years. Anywhere up to 800 laughing, smiling citizens show up for these unique events year after year. The rules are simple: Get a group of 20, which should include at least 5 women. Come together to perform 3 ‘Laughters’ of your choice. Watch the magic.
The fifth laughter competition, one of the most celebrated ones, was held on 6th May 2007, World Laughter Day, only for the Senior Citizens of Mumbai. More than 300 senior members took part in the event. It was widely covered in the media as well. Needless to say, it was a riot of the right kind!
REFRESHMENT CENTRE
Eat healthy, drink pure, stay refreshed
The Refreshment Centre stocks basic, healthful snacks for park visitors. Don’t miss our coconut water stall after a brisk walk or an intense game. PDP has installed the latest water purifying system at the Centre too. You get FREE cold water from our latest water e-boiling system. To promote good health among citizens, we encourage fresh juices and health drinks. There is also a person selling wheatgrass juice just outside the Park. Highly recommended. Most importantly, the park is equipped with Aquaguard facilities to purify water so that you don't have to worry about contaminated water during the monsoons or any time of the year.
MAN-MADE BEACH
Life’s a beach
Feel the gentle lap of the water at shore. Fill your eyes with the sight of the silvery Arabian Sea. Sit down on the rocks and feel thankful for all that life has to offer. Or bask in the orange of the setting sun as it sinks into the horizon. Every moment is worth it.
PRIYA POINT
Where it all happens
Priya Point is a humble name for an ambitious part of the park. As a vast green space, it has become a meeting point for amazing cultural events and healthful activities like yoga. Drop by our website from time to time for regular updates on what’s happening here!
CHILDREN'S PARK
We’re serious about fun
Imagine growing up playing by the seaside, yet, growing up in the shadow of a lush green park. Imagine childhoods made of melting orange sunsets and gently curling waves. The Children’s Park at PDP is more than a place to play. It’s a place to live through your Wonder Years. Let your little ones roam free, socialize & play.
Fun is serious business here.
We wish to thank Arvind Sawant, MP (Mumbai South) for his generous contributions in developing and maintaining the Children's Park.
PET PARK
If you’re happy and you know it, wag your tail
Pet lovers and pet owners alike are invited to bring their furry friends for free runs, ball-playing and extended sniffing sessions. Our staff love your little waggy-tailed visitors and are happy to give them their space to roam. Your pets are allowed in the park from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
